Pre-K (UPK4) & Kindergarten Drop-In Orientation: Wednesday, Sept. 2

Turnpike Elementary School's Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK4) and Kindergarten Orientation is Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Orientation is drop-in style for your convenience; you and your student may stop by Turnpike Elementary anytime between 8:30 AM–12:30 PM.

You and your student should plan to be at Turnpike for approximately 20–30 minutes, during which you will meet your student's teacher and visit their classroom. 

What to Bring

  • Completed District Paperwork: Please complete all sides of these forms (emergency contact information, dismissal, health/medical authorization release)
  • Change of Clothes: In a Ziploc bag labeled with your student's name (to keep in their classroom if needed)
  • Transportation Plans:
    • School Bus: If your student is taking the bus, bring their backpack to orientation so it can be labeled with a bus tag. Students ages 4 and up can ride the bus, and families are encouraged to take advantage of this.
    • Drop Off/Pick Up: Your student's teacher will show you where afternoon pick up is. Your paperwork must have the names of everyone authorized to pick up your student.
