One of our favorite traditions in Lansingburgh returned on Wednesday, February 7: World Read Aloud Day!

Turnpike Elementary School and Rensselaer Park Elementary School hosted dozens of guest readers including elected officials, community members, board members, firefighters, Troy Police, Lansingburgh faculty/staff and more. World Read Aloud Day was founded so people around the world could celebrate reading aloud as a way to advocate for literacy as a human right.

Enjoy the pictures below from around Turnpike Elementary and Rensselaer Park Elementary during the 2024 World Read Aloud Day on February 7. Thank you to all our many, many guest readers (there were even more than we have pictured!) and our incredible TES & RPES Reading Teachers for organizing the day!
