Please see the letter below from Lansingburgh High School Principal Matthew Van Dervoort with the schedule and information for the Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony, Class Night and Graduation Rehearsal. This message was sent to all 2024 Senior Families through ParentSquare.
Dear Families;
It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end and we are getting ready to celebrate the Class of 2024’s Graduation! Some important graduation information is contained in this letter.
- Mandatory graduation dress rehearsal for the seniors is on Tuesday, June 25 at 10:00 AM at Lansingburgh High School. THIS IS MANDATORY FOR ALL STUDENTS WHO WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY!
- Tickets, caps and gowns will be given out at rehearsal.
- Each graduate will be given 6 guest tickets. Students may get in line for extra tickets. Tickets will be handed out one at a time until they are gone.
- All attendees over the age of four need a ticket to enter.
- Doors open at 5:30 PM for the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 26. Seating is first come, first serve.
- There are NO balloons, signs or noise-making devices allowed due to visibility and noise. They will not be allowed into the building.
- All bags are subject to a search.
**IMPORTANT PARKING NOTICE FOR GRADUATION**
Due to the creation of our new shot put and discus field, we lost our parking area on the grass in the back of the main parking lot behind LHS. Rensselaer Park Elementary School and Knick Park will be available for parking. We will have the fence open for people who park at RPES to walk over to the main entrance of the gym. We encourage carpooling as much as possible.
Senior Class Night on June 25
The Class of 2024 Class Night/Slide show will be in our gym at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 25. Parents are welcome to join this event. You can email any pictures of your senior to burghclassof2024@gmail.com by June 13th. After the conclusion of the slide show, students will be invited to go to the second floor and sign their class mural.
Graduation Ceremony on June 26
On graduation night (Wednesday, June 26) all graduates need to arrive by 4:45 PM and meet in the LHS Cafeteria. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM. Please be mindful that the ceremony is not over when diplomas are handed out. It is in bad taste to begin leaving the gym before the conclusion of the entire ceremony. Please remain seated in the gym until the conclusion of the final student speaker. These students have worked hard to reach this achievement and deserve all of our attention until their celebration is complete.
Thank you,
Matt Van Dervoort
