Student-Athlete Spotlight

  • Student-Athlete Spotlights highlight specific Lansingburgh students who also play on our athletics teams. During the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons, coaches from the Lansingburgh Knights sports teams choose an exemplary student-athlete who demonstrates not only talent and leadership skills but also good sportsmanship.

    Lansingburgh Student-Athlete Spotlights - Fall 2022 Season

    Annabelle Goyette

Lansingburgh Knights Sports Team: JV Girls Volleyball

    Grade: 10

"Annabelle has shown up to volleyball this season ready to work hard, learn and grow as a volleyball player and teammate. She asks how she can improve her playing each day and then works to improve on those skills - either at home, at practice, and even during games. She is always there to help and encourage her teammates - including using kind words and positive feedback! You will always hear her praising and cheering on her teammates before, during and after a game! Annabelle is new to Burgh this school year and is already off to a great start! She is such a wonderful addition to the Lansingburgh Community!"

    Athena Planas-Dove

Lansingburgh Knights Sports Team: Varsity Girls Cross Country

    Grade: 11

"Athena is a Track and Cross Country veteran whose dedication is near-unparalleled and who possesses a distinct raw talent for the sport. She works year-round on her craft, training long hours over the summer to build up her endurance for our 5k races. Athena juggles her sports with her academics and is also a member of the LHS Drama Club as well as the Knights Boxing Club throughout the winter season. She is currently ranked among the top 10 for the Section in Cross Country this year with hopes of making a post-season run in November."

    Jasanah Cruel

Lansingburgh Knights Sports Team: Modified Volleyball

    Grade: 8

"Jasanah is a huge team player and role model to the other athletes. This is her second year on the team and she is our setter. Whether it's helping set up the net or being the first one on the court, she is always ready to give it her all. She always has a great attitude by cheering her teammates to help keep a positive attitude on the court."
