New Student Athletic Programs Starting in 2023-24 School Year

October 11, 2023

Lansingburgh Central School District is pleased to announce it will be adding two new student programs to its athletics department: Varsity Indoor Track and Unified Basketball. Lansingburgh’s Board of Education approved these programs at their September 2023 meeting. Both Indoor Track and Unified Basketball will begin during the current 2023-2024 School Year.

“We’re excited about these two new opportunities our student-athletes will have during the upcoming athletic seasons and in the years to come. Indoor track will be starting first, and it will help keep our students engaged and active during the cold winter months we have in our area”, said Lansingburgh Athletic Director Tom Murley.

Lansingburgh’s Indoor Track Program will compete in Division III of the Tri-County Indoor Track League (TCITL) in Section 2 of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). It will be part of the district’s upcoming Winter 2023-24 Athletic Season at the varsity boys and varsity girls level. Competitive indoor track meets are held on the weekends, typically at local colleges with athletic facilities to accommodate them, such as Union College, Hudson Valley Community College and University at Albany, SUNY.
