Lansingburgh Remembers Ayshawn Davis by Wearing Blue, Donating to Scholarship

September 14, 2022

On September 13, 2022, Lansingburgh observed the anniversary of the death of Lansingburgh 6th grade student, Ayshawn Davis. Ayshawn tragically passed away in September 2020 as a result of gun violence and his death was devastating for the entire Lansingburgh community.

Yesterday, staff & students in the district wore the color blue (Ayshawn's favorite) in his memory and many of those who wore blue also donated to The Ayshawn Davis “Anything is Possible” Scholarship. The annual initiative to wear blue in Ayshawn's memory was started last year in observance of the one-year anniversary of his death. This scholarship program was created shortly after Ayshawn's death to ensure his memory continues and to reward future students who graduate from Lansingburgh Central School District.

If you would like to donate to the Ayshawn Davis “Anything is Possible” Scholarship, you can mail or drop off a check at the Lansingburgh District Office or any Lansingburgh School's Main Office. Checks can be made out to the “LCSD Anything is Possible Scholarship” and are considered a charitable contribution on your behalf. If needed, a receipt can be generated for your tax records.

Thank you to all those who participated in yesterday's honoring of Ayshawn by wearing blue and/or donating. Below are some of our staff and students wearing blue in honor of Ayshawn.
