District Honors & Remembers Ayshawn Davis

September 13, 2021

Today we observed the one-year anniversary of the death of Lansingburgh 6th grade student, Ayshawn Davis, who tragically passed away last September as a result of gun violence. Ayshawn's death was devastating for the entire Lansingburgh community and one year later he is still dearly missed by all who knew him.

Today many in the district wore the color blue (Ayshawn's favorite) in his memory and staff who wore blue made a donation to The Ayshawn Davis “Anything is Possible” Scholarship.

This scholarship program was created shortly after Ayshawn's death to ensure his memory continues and to reward future students who graduate from Lansingburgh Central School District. Those wishing to know more about the scholarship can click here and contributions from interested individuals can be mailed or dropped off at district and school offices.

Below are some of our staff and students wearing blue earlier today in honor of Ayshawn.
