PICTURES: Turnpike Uses Tech to Make Macy's Parade
11/27/2019 - Before heading off for the long holiday weekend, Turnpike Elementary students made their own version of the famed Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
True to the real-life Parade, students designed “floats” based on one of their favorite characters from the medium of their choice (TV, books, movies, etc.).
They used Ozobots – small robots that teach students early computer coding practices – to drive their floats around their own Parade “route.” Additionally, with the help of a greenscreen, the students were able to pose directly in front of the 34th Street Macys in New York City.
A perfect activity to wrap up the short week! Thanks to Ms. Gibson and all the Turnpike staff who made this fun, educational activity possible!
