8/30/2019 - As the start of the 2019-2020 school year approaches on September 5, a quick reminder to our Lansingburgh parents and guardians about school transportation.
Throughout the year, our school bus drivers do their very best making sure they're on time picking students up in the morning and dropping them off in the afternoon.
However, it's important to remember that in the first few weeks of any school year, our drivers are often learning heavily changed or even entirely new routes from the prior year. There's often new drivers who aren't as familiar with the Lansingburgh area as veteran drivers and student pickup/dropoff locations frequently change in the first month of school.
There's an adjustment period early in the year for our drivers as they become familiar with their routes and for our office staff as they frequently update changing information. Because of this, it's not uncommon for school buses to run a little bit off schedule early on and we kindly ask for some community patience at the bus stops during the next few weeks.
We assure you, the entire Lansingburgh Transportation Department and the District as a whole work hard ensuring students make it home in a timely and, more importantly, safe manner.
