(UPDATED: 2:55 PM): Dismissal Delays & After School Activities Canceled
September 18, 2023
(2:55 PM): As of 2:55 PM, the precautionary LOCKOUT has been lifted and the Troy PD has given the all-clear to continue with dismissal, starting at TES and then at RPES. This will likely further the delays that we were expecting due to the water main break and flooding. Thank you for your patience.
(2:46 PM): In addition to the water main break and flooding, all buildings in the LCSD are now on a precautionary LOCKOUT as we have learned of a shooting that has occurred about a block from LHS. Dismissal at LHS and KMS has already happened but we are holding student dismissal at TES and RPES until we have confirmation from the Troy PD that the area is safe. We will update everyone again when the area in question is clear and dismissal can continue.
(2:05 PM): For bus dismissal this afternoon, any normal bus stops on 5th Avenue between 119th and 125th Street are being shifted over two blocks to 3rd Avenue. Expect slight delays and plan accordingly. Again, we ask for your patience.
(1:45 PM): We are aware of the water main break in the City of Troy that has resulted in a loss of water in some of our buildings. As a result, we are canceling all after school activities, including after care at TES and RPES. The only exception is the JV Football game which is still being played in Fonda-Fultonville.
We are also working on alternative bus routes home because certain streets may be closed due to flooding and will send out another message in the near future with those plans. This will likely mean that drop-off times will be delayed even though we are planning on normal dismissal times.
We appreciate your patience.
