Turnpike Elementary Raises $4,760 for Make-A-Wish!
December 30, 2022
For their monthly Character Education Trait, (Generosity) Turnpike Elementary joined together to support Make-A-Wish Northeast New York’s Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign! The schoolwide fundraising efforts were led by retired teacher, Warren Lansing, and the final amount raised for Make-A-Wish NENY was a whopping $4,760!
To thank the school community, the Make-A-Wish NENY CEO, William Trigg, visited Turnpike right before the Holiday Recess and took a tour around the school to see the classroom Generosity Character Displays. In addition to the money raised by the Turnpike community, one of our Knickerbacker Middle School students, John Lynch, raised/donated $750 in memory of a family friend, Mrs. Pooler, who lost her battle with cancer. We’re so proud of Turnpike and John for their generosity and hard work this holiday season! Thank you to Mr. Trigg for personally visiting Turnpike to express his and Make-A-Wish NENY’s gratitude! Further thanks to all who participated in the fundraising efforts!
