Dear Parents/Caregivers:

This morning,  the district was notified that a student at Turnpike Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in the building on Monday, January 4, 2021. As a result, The Rensselaer County Department of Health has advised us to quarantine the classroom and any individuals who have been in close contact with the student. At this time all individuals who had direct contact with the positive student and need to quarantine have been contacted by us.

Someone from the Department of Health (DOH) or a district representative will be in touch with you shortly if any further action needs to be taken. Additional tracing will continue in the days ahead and if there are any other actions that we need to take, we will communicate with you as quickly as possible. It’s always best practice to monitor your child for symptoms and contact your child’s primary health provider if they are exhibiting any of the Covid-19 symptoms.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at the main office.
