January 12, 2023
The following messages from Lansingburgh's Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Antonio Abitabile, about the before and after school care programs at Turnpike Elementary and Rensselaer Park Elementary were sent to all families on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Lansingburgh School Community,
As you know from our prior communication earlier this morning, TSL Adventures notified families late on Wednesday, January 11th that they will no longer be providing before and after school care, effective immediately. We understand the strain this may cause with our families. The District is working diligently with the NYS Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) to expedite the process of approving a new vendor to resume these programs.
In the meantime, we are using our District staff to temporarily supervise the children who attend both before and after school programs. It is critically important to our families that there is no lapse in service. We will continue providing after school care free of charge using CARES Act and American Rescue Funds. Before school care will now also be available free of charge to the families who are currently enrolled in TSL’s program. At this time, we ask that families refrain from attempting to have their children newly enroll in either program until we can consistently manage them. I encourage any family who has prepaid for morning care to contact TSL seeking a refund for your payment.
Additionally, a building administrator and security staff has been added because we are now requiring parents/guardians to show identification when signing out your children. We realize this may be different than was done in the past and appreciate your understanding as we add these safety measures. Both TES and RPES will communicate separately with specifics that pertain to each building’s sign out location.
Finally, we have been asked to share the contact information listed below from both the NYS OCFS and Child Protective Services (CPS) as it pertains to an ongoing investigation regarding TSL Adventures. At this time, I am unable to share any further details of their investigation other than to say that a member from either organization may be contacting you with questions. If you have any information that you would like to share with them, their contact information is below:
Cara Murphy: 518-833-6052
Ashley Monk: 518-833-6090
Pam Leganczuk: 518-426-7181 x350
Thank you for your continued patience while we transition to a new provider.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Dr. Antonio W. Abitabile, Ed. D.

Good morning Lansingburgh families and sorry for the early communication.
We learned fairly late last night that our before and after school provider at TES and RPES, TSL Adventures, decided they will no longer be providing their services to district families beginning this morning.
The District is committed to our families by providing a continuity of services with no lapse in program. While there will be NO before school care this morning (Thursday, January 12), the District will be staffing after school care beginning today until a new provider can be approved by the NYS Office of Child and Family Services. The same will be true for before school care starting Friday morning.
You will also notice administrative and security staff at both locations who will be asking parents/guardians to provide identification when picking up their children from the program. We understand this may be different from what has happened in the past. However, we feel this added security measure is a necessity for keeping your children as safe as possible.
The District will continue to provide after school care free of charge for families using CARES Act and American Rescue Funds. Before care will be provided free of charge to families already registered with TSL until a new provider can begin as well.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes our families and are doing everything possible to mitigate the disruption to your daily routines.
Antonio W. Abitabile
