Updated: 12/19/2018 - Starting on January 14, 2019, we're working with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to offer NAMI Basics. This is a FREE, six-session course, for parents and caregiver of students with symptoms of mental illness developed before age 13.
Held in a small group setting at Turnpike Elementary, participants will connect face-to-face with other District parents and caregivers. NAMI Basics group instructors speak from lived experience and know what participants are going through. You’ll learn mental health condition facts and how you can personally improve supporting your child at home, at school and when they receive medical care.
NAMI Basics is free for all Lansingburgh School District parents/caregivers but is limited to 20 participants. Sessions meet once per week over six weeks (dates below).
There will be light dinner provided and we’re working on providing childcare during the group sessions (more information on this soon).
