  • (1/30/2020) Sometimes it's tricky knowing when to keep your student home from school and when to send them back to school.

Additionally, it's tough knowing which health-related issues you should tell your student's school nurse about.

To help clear things up, Lansingburgh Health Services staff made a couple of one-page guides. Check them out if you're unsure about keeping your student home/sending them back to school or unsure if you should tell the nurse about your student's health issue.

  • 12/13/2019 - New York State Education Law requires a Health Examination (or Physical) for all students entering the school district for the first time and when entering grades Pre-K or K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th.

The Health Examination must be completed by a New York State licensed physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner on the approved NYSED student health examination form for school. A copy of the health examination must be provided to the school within 30 days from when the required grade student starts. If your child has an appointment for an exam after the 30 days, please notify Health Office or list below. If Health Office does not receive a notification, a physical will be scheduled at school for a later date.

Please use one the forms below to inform the district of whether you intend to have a family physician or the school district physician perform the examination

  • 7/23/2019 - New York State Department of Health and the New York State Education Department created a FAQ document to provide further guidance to parents/guardians on the amendment regarding required New York State student immunizations.

6/25/2019 - We're notifying Lansingburgh families that recently enacted legislation signed by Governor Cuomo has eliminated non-medical exemptions (including religious exemptions) as a reason to refuse school vaccination requirements. All non-medical reasons, including religious reasons, are no longer an acceptable reason for students not being vaccinated against measles or other diseases.

Please carefully review this information as this legislation is effective immediately as of June 13, 2019

Students attending public, private or parochial school who claimed a religious exemption to required immunizations in the past must now receive the first age-appropriate dose in each immunization series by June 28, 2019, to attend or remain in school or child daycare.
