2024-2025 Budget

(May 21, 2024) Residents of the Lansingburgh Central School District have approved a $64,741,554 budget for the 2024-2025 School Year by a vote of 299 (YES) to 87 (NO).

This budget represents a $4,200,484 spending increase from the 2023-2024 School Year. The estimated tax levy increase for the 2024-2025 Budget is 0.9%, which is below the allowable tax levy limit of 1.1% set by New York State.

Residents also elected Thomas Zakrzewski and Catherine Curtis to the two open seats on the Lansingburgh Board of Education. Each seat is for a 5-year term (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2029).

2024-2025 School Year Budget Vote Information

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, residents of the Lansingburgh Central School District will vote on whether to approve a proposed budget of $64,741,554 for the 2024-2025 School Year. 

In-person voting will be done with the use of voting machines at voters' designated polling locations on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, between 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Scroll down if you do not know your polling location. 

Board of Education Election

Residents will also elect two (2) members of Lansingburgh's Board of Education. Each seat will be for a five (5) year term (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2029). More information about the board election process is available here.

2024-2025 Annual Budget Hearing Presentation

The Lansingburgh Central School District Annual Budget Hearing will take place at Turnpike Elementary School (55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, NY) on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Members of the public are welcome to attend for a presentation about the Proposed 2024-2025 School Year Budget. The Annual Budget Hearing will be directly preceded by Meet the Candidates for the Board of Education.

Voting for the Budget & Board Election

Voter Registration

Anyone not registered to vote may register at the District Office (55 New Turnpike Rd) on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Who Can Vote

You are an eligible voter if you are:

  • A legal US resident;
  • 18 years old by May 21, 2024; and
  • Living within the Lansingburgh Central School District boundaries for at least 30 days prior to May 21, 2024.

How You Can Vote

In Person

In-person voting will be done with the use of voting machines at the following polling locations on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, between 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

Voting District 1: Lansingburgh High School Gym (320 7th Ave.)

  • The voting location for those living north of 101st St to the south of 118th St.

Voting District 2: Turnpike Elementary School Gym (55 New Turnpike Rd.)

  • The voting location for those living north of 118th St to the end of Pleasantdale; Northern Drive; Corliss Park; Miami Beach Estates; Highpointe; all of Brunswick 7; and all of Speigletown.
Early Voting

Applications for early mail ballots can be picked up from the District Clerk at the District Office (55 New Turnpike Road). Any qualified voter may request an early mail ballot. The District Clerk cannot accept completed applications before April 20, 2024. 

Applicants requesting a ballot be mailed to them must return completed applications to the District Clerk no later than May 14, 2024. If the ballot will be picked up in person, completed applications must be returned to the District Clerk no later than the day before the election. Early mail ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM, prevailing time, on May 21, 2024.

Absentee Ballots

Applications for absentee ballots can be picked up from the District Clerk at the District Office (55 New Turnpike Road). Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot will be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot will be given to the voter in person. Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM, prevailing time, on May 21, 2024.

Military Ballots

Military voters who are qualified voters of Lansingburgh Central School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk by phone (518-233-6850 Ext. 33400) or email (cwilliams@lansingburgh.org).  

For a military voter to receive a military ballot, the District Clerk must receive a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 PM on April 25, 2024. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, fax or email.
