Below you can find the presentation given by SEI Design Group at Lansingburgh's Board of Education Meeting on October 11, 2022. This presentation provides an overview of almost all components of the project that will be completed over the next few years.
This presentation includes computer renderings of completed spaces. These are not meant to be exact representations of what completed construction in these spaces will look like.
Capital Improvement Project Approved by Voters on December 7, 2021
On Tuesday, December 7, voters of the Lansingburgh Central School District approved a proposed $16,664,405 Capital Improvement Project by a vote of 259 (Yes) to 120 (No). The approved project includes multiple upgrades to Rensselaer Park Elementary and the district’s athletic facilities, which you can read more about below.
The district thanks all the Lansingburgh CSD community members who came out today and exercised their right to vote.
"We are grateful to the Lansingburgh community for approving the funding for this project. It will allow us to create a more suitable space for the students and staff at Rensselaer Park Elementary School and expand upon our athletic facilities. I look forward to beginning the planning phase," Superintendent Dr. Antonio Abitabile said.
Voting

Voting takes place on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 12:00 - 9:00 PM. Eligible registered voters will vote at one of the locations below depending on which Lansingburgh voting district they live in.
- Voting District 1: Lansingburgh High School Gym (320 7th Ave.)
- The voting location for those living north of 101st St to the south of 118th St.
- Voting District 2: Turnpike Elementary School Gym (55 New Turnpike Rd.)
- The voting location for those living north of 118th St to the end of Pleasantdale; Northern Drive; Corliss Park; Miami Beach Estates; Highpointe; all of Brunswick 7; and all of Speigletown.
- Speigletown Fire House is not a voting location.

Financial Impact of Proposed Project
- Amount Paid For by Taxpayers: 8% of the total cost: $1,181,012
- Below is the maximum increase average taxpayers would see on their tax bills:
- Lansingburgh Residents: $10.08
- Brunswick Residents: $14.05
- Schaghticoke Residents: $13.19
- Pittstown Residents: $0.28
- Below is the maximum increase average taxpayers would see on their tax bills:
- Amount Paid For by NYS Building Aid: 92% of the total cost: $14,316,647
- Total Cost of Project: $16,664,405
- Amount Up for Taxpayer Approval: $15,497,658
- The remaining costs are covered through alternate funding
Public Information Session
There will be a Public Information Session about the capital project on Tuesday, November 23 starting at 6:00 PM in Turnpike Elementary. Voters interested in learning more about the project are encouraged to attend and ask questions.
Voter Registration
New or unregistered district residents eligible to vote on the proposed capital project may register to vote on Tuesday, November 23. If registering to vote, come to the District Office (55 New Turnpike Rd) between 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Voters do not have to own property and do not have to be a parent of a Lansingburgh student
In order to be eligible to vote, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- At least 18 years of age
- A legal resident within the district for a period of 30 days immediately prior to Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
If registering on November 23 make sure your legal address is the address on your 1) Drivers license. 2) Federal Income Tax form 3) Car registration form. 4) Where you are registered to vote in the county, state and federal elections.
Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots may be applied for at the Office of the District Clerk (55 New Turnpike Rd). Applications for absentee ballots can be found here and must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days prior to the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or prior to December 6, 2021, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.
Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the vote, Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

- October 5, 2021
- Project design, program and budget finalized
- October 18, 2021
- Special board of education meeting to approve preliminary project design and budget
- Board resolution to establish a date for voter referendum project approval (public voting date)
- Legal notice about voter referendum submitted to the newspaper
- Early November 2021
- Mailer/newsletter sent to all district residents with more details about proposed capital improvement project, including financial impact.
- November 23, 2021
- Public information meeting for the community about the proposed capital improvement project at 6:00 PM
- Voter registration date for new/unregistered eligible district residents at the District Office from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- December 7, 2021
- Public vote for project approval from 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Voting District 1: Lansingburgh High School Gym (320 7th Ave.)
