Students rock to the A Capella Band Music "Fault Line"
The "Fault Line", contestants on Americas Got Talent 2007 Season brought the house down at Turnpike Elementary School on Thursday, May 3, 2012. A four person a cappella band based in Albany, NY, takes traditional a cappella and smashes it against the wall. The remains are rebuilt into The "Fault Line's" funky musical style for all the world to enjoy. These four musicians come from a variety of musical experiences, but are drawn together with an incredible passion to bring the funk and soul to the a cappella world.
Dear Parents,
The Lansingburgh Elementary Band is currently going strong. A majority of the students currently lease instruments from the school, which in turn lease the instruments through a private music company. Due to many new financial constraints, the school will not be able to assist the families with the instrument leases next year.
This will make the instrument rental and leases a responsibility of the parents. This could be a problem for many of the Lansingburgh students. Music is an integral part of our lives and every student should have the opportunity to experience it.
Mr. Rowlands will be asking local businesses for monetary donations over the summer. These donations will assist the booster club in purchasing instruments for Lansingburgh Elementary students.
The booster club is asking parents, family members and/or friends to dust off that old instrument that has been sitting in the attic for the past ten years and donate it to the Lansingburgh Elementary band program. You do not need to have it repaired (unless you would like to) or cleaned, as we will attempt to do these things ourselves to save money.
All donors will be given a receipt to use as a non-cash contribution towards their 2012 tax return. The receipt amount will be determined on an individual basis by an outside music company. The worth will depend on how much work will need to be done before it is in playing condition.
If you have any questions, feel free to email or call Mr. Rowlands. If you would like to donate an instrument to the program, please bring the instrument to Mr. Rowlands at one of the schools. You may also make a monetary donation towards the program by making a check payable to “Lansingburgh Elementary Band Boosters”. Please be sure to leave a name and phone number so that Mr. Rowlands can contact you.
Yours in Music,
Mr. Christopher R. Rowlands

Now turn those shopping trip into easy cash for Turnpike, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios, Hamburger Helper, and Kleenex, in almost every aisle of the store.
