Rensselaer Park Honored for “Character Education” Work
The Rensselaer Park Elementary School was honored recently for its “Promising Practices in Character Education” at the “Champions of Character” Awards Banquet held March 12th at the Franklin Plaza in Troy.
A variety of character awards are granted to schools, administrators and teachers from throughout the Capital Region each year by the Academy for Character Education at The Sage Colleges. The awards honor civility and alternatives to violence by developing character traits such as respect, honesty, caring relationships, courage to do the right thing, responsibility and service to community. Rensselaer Park DARE Graduation
About 100 fifth-grade students from the Rensselaer Park Elementary School received diplomas during a ceremony at the school on Thursday, January 31, to commemorate their graduation from the 2007-08 school year's D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. [More information on graduation]
Rensselaer Park Elementary School
Rensselaer Park Elementary School is one of four schools in the Lansingburgh Central School District. Comprising grades K-5, Rensselaer Park Elementary School houses approximately 570 students and employs approximately 65 professionals and support staff.
The Rensselaer Park Elementary School is identical to the Turnpike Elementary School and features a centrally located media center, computer lab, resource rooms, cafeteria/auditorium, gymnasium and outdoor playing fields. Energy-efficient heating, cooling and lighting systems are integrated with security surveillance and state-of-the-art telecommunications installations.

RPES 5th GradeAccepted to the University of Albany!!
During their visit, they will be participating in activities focused on nutrition, math, language arts, and social studies. The students will have the opportunity to meet the U Albany coaches and student athletes.
The trip will end with much excitement as the students will have the opportunity to watch the U Albany Great Danes Women’s Basketball team play
