Troy Record Honors Two Girls’ Team Players
Two members of the Lansingburgh High School girls’ basketball team were recognized for their court work this season on The Troy Record’s All-City Girls’ Basketball Team, released in the March 27th edition of the paper.
Sophomore guard Arlana Youngs was named a second-team all-star, while forward Jamiesha Bruton, another sophomore, was named as an honorable mention selection.
Youngs was Lansingburgh’s leading scorer, averaging 10.1 points per game as the Knights finished with a 12-9 overall record and a 9-7 mark in Colonial Council play under Coach Mari Warner. Bruton was Lansingburgh’s second-leading scorer, averaging 6.6 points per contest.
Players from Troy, Lansingburgh, Catholic Central, Watervliet, Cohoes, Waterford, Heatly, Emma Willard and Tamarac are eligible for consideration for the paper’s All-City team.
