Lansingburgh High School has the privilege of hosting two foreign
exchange students for the 2008-2009 school year.
Paulo Garcia joins the Lansingburgh community from Franca, a Brazilian city in Sao Paulo State. Although his native language is Portuguese, Paulo has a full schedule including advanced biology, 19th and 20th century literature, and economics, among many other classes. Lansingburgh High School has nearly twice the amount of students as Paulo’s high school at home but he says the students and teachers are friendly and welcoming. The Yonker family is hosting Paulo during his stay.
Mareva Bracquemont joins us from Brignoles, a town in southeastern France. Her busy schedule includes pre-calculus, public speaking, and physics. Mareva has been enjoying the many events there are to participate in at Lansingburgh High School. She particularly enjoyed the pep rally and the many other festivities that took place during homecoming weekend. The Delsignores are Mareva’s host family.
Best wishes to both Paulo and Mareva for success in the upcoming school year.
