In October of 2008 the school district asked community members to respond to a survey of the Lansingburgh Central School District. The survey asked for community satisfaction ratings of educational programs, athletics, district communication, voting locations, and district planning.
The district received 90 responses. The responses indicate that the community is satisfied with many aspects of their schools. 78% of the responses rated district programs as average or better. The respondents indicate that they are most proud of parent and community involvement, educational programs, music and arts, athletics, and facilities. A summary of the responses is available on the attached power point presentation. The Board of Education and the district administrators are using community responses to analyze and further develop quality programming in academic intervention services (AIS), special education, and enrichment. Interest was expressed for Adult Education programs. Unfortunately due to the current fiscal situation, in particular substantial reduction in state aid for the 2009-2010 school year, the District in not in a financial position to implement an adult education program at this time. However, the District will continue to offer Parent Workshops on a variety of topics, funded by federal Title I grants. District newsletters were indicated as the preferred mode of communication. The newsletter, Knightline, will continue to be published. However, due to financial considerations and the effort to be environmentally responsible, the number of editions will be reduced. All information that would be included in our newsletters is published and updated daily on the District website.
