Student Inducted into National Technical Honor Society
Lansingburgh High School student Addie Thompson was inducted into the Rensselaer Educational Center chapter of the National Technical Honor Society on June 3, 2008. Thompson is a student in Questar III’s New Visions: Visual & Performing Arts program based at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy.
This marks the inaugural year of the National Technical Honor Society program at Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center. To qualify Thompson maintained a 90 or above average for three quarters in her New Visions program, 85 or above average for three quarters at Lansingburgh High, 5 or fewer absences for three quarters, a recommendation from a teacher and 25 or more hours of community service.
Thompson was one of 19 students inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Rensselaer Educational Center Principal Anthony DeFazio said induction is the country’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education. “Congratulations to these students for their exemplary performance in school and outstanding service to their communities.”
