Softball Team Captures First League Crown since 2002

Lansingburgh pitcher Erin Glikes hurled a shutout, recordning 10 strikeouts in a 7-0 victory over Holy Names on Tuesday, May 20th, that wrapped up the Colonial Council’s regular-season championship for the Lady Knights.

The last time Burgh won the league’s softball title was in 2002, when it shared that honor with Mechanicville

“The biggest compliment to us is that we can sit back and have people look at us as a champion,” said coach John Cipperly.

The Class A sectional playoffs are next up for the Lady Knights, who finish the regular season with a 15-1 record in league play and an 18-2 overall record.
